Be back in about an hour.

I'm here! Hi, SG!

Tess315 said...

1:08pm lol

Tess315 said...

Hi Black Swan

Black Swan said...

yeah, I caught that too, LOL

Tess315 said...

Hi Black Swan

Tess315 said...

I'm getting the feeling it's the VP. I have all day.

Black Swan said...

ha.. you had it!

Black Swan said...

I'll always think of Hal Hollbrook as Mark Twain, LOL

Tess315 said...

It doesn't explain Dempsey though. Why does he think they're dangerous?

Tess315 said...

Sodo you think Blake was looking for the VP? He was missing too.

Black Swan said...

I don't know.. seems to me it could be something as simple as being afraid of what you don't understand or something more.

OMG, he got shot!! Saw that guy behind him.. whoever he is

Tess315 said...

It could be that but I think he know more about the sleepers than they've shown so far.

That guy was one of the guys they tried to blow up and survived.

Black Swan said...

thx, SG.. I do have a feeling he knows more about the sleepers and all of them really.. we just don't know what it is yet.

Tess315 said...

Maybe Dempsey is lying to the VP about them being dangerous so he can continue using the sleepers.

Black Swan said...

"your people" hmmmmm

Black Swan said...

good point!

Black Swan said...

I start to think the VP should definitely watch his back!

Tess315 said...

Yeah I wouldn't be going to any secrect meetings with Dempsey.

Black Swan said...

I hate politics, LOL.. Dempsey owns the VP under the pretense of what's good for the country

I want to know who Dempsey's "people" really are.

Tess315 said...

The Cape is what's replacing The Event during hiatus.

Black Swan said...

Oh, I heard about that hiatus.. look what Lost started, LOL. I don't know anything about The Cape. Sometimes I like winter tv best, tho.

Black Swan said...

I still like your idea, SG from the other thread.. you said..
"I think Dempsey discovered one or more of the sleepers, maybe Thomas and is using their advanced knowledge to cure himself."

we were right to worry about the VP

Black Swan said...

Vicki wants out.. don't blame her one bit. VP got lucky there.

Tess315 said...

I just lost Internet connection. Have to resort to my phone.

I didn't think Vicky would kill him

Tess315 said...

He won't make it

Tess315 said...

I was just going yo say I wonder what that really is.

Tess315 said...

I'm talking to my self. lol

Black Swan said...

What the?? Is that to make him younger?

Black Swan said...

LOL, I do that all the time.. :P

Next week looks interesting. I'm still trying to digest what I just saw.

Can't believe it;s just you and me tonight, SG

Tess315 said...

So how is he making his his youth serum?
It doesn't last very long.

I know I we're the only one's still interested in talking about the show.

Tess315 said...

That should be I think

Black Swan said...

It makes the most sense that he's got a deal with Thomas or something and that it's all about him wanting to stay young by exploiting the aliens, BUT I also like the idea that he is a sleeper and that glimpse we got of him younger in the mirror was just showing us who he really is (a sleeper, and we know they don't age the same as us) So that stuff he took maybe is what they're giving those little girls that we saw last week.. they might be experimenting with this stuff on them, idk

Black Swan said...

Oh, and that preview was pretty amazing.. they're planning the Event! Looks like Thomas isn't going to let ANYTHING stand in his way.

I'd still like to know about Sean and why he (at least at the beginning) seemed to be so important in all of this

Tess315 said...

Sean's story has a big gap in it between the ship and the plane. I guess when they catch up with Michael or Samantha we'll find out what it is.

Yeah Thomas definitely has his own agenda.

Black Swan said...

I guess we'll see that in a flashback; they like to keep us hanging. I just hope it's not an annoying thing like going from one story-line to the next with no ties between like 24 would do sometimes.

Yeah, Thomas is an interesting character. He's power hungry it seems; and not all of it has to do with getting them all 'home', IMO. He's been a sleeper for 66 years and has had the chance to see where the biggest opportunities lie.

maven said...

Good evening all:

When Michael is being interviewed by the President he says a call came in at 1:08pm! Hahaha
If Dempsey fears the detainees, what is he doing with those kids? Is it possible the kids are test subjects to control aging, and they've failed duplicating the 44er's slow aging?
That shot at Sean seems awfully fatal to me!
Dempsey seems to have bought the VP. How was he so sure that Martinez will win the White House?
Is that the magic potion he keeps taking? Wow, interesting ending! Definitely an anti-aging issue.

So Dempsey is ingesting essence of little girl, very creepy.

Love the episode, lots more story to speculate on.

Unfortunately they used the usual trick of any doctor can perform life saving surgery in an alley way with items bought at a local pharmacy !

Dempsey sure has a grip on things, how did he become all powerful without anyone in the government noticing.

So was 1:08 pm a coincidence or a cinical attempt to get the LOST fans on board ? Whichever it was it made me smile.

Some episode screen captures are coming up soon.

Zort70 said...

It is very quiet over here today.

We will have to see if we can go on a recruitment drive when the show returns.

(Was I being optomistic when I said "When" ?)

Zort70 said...

Thinking about the number on the truthseeker post it is more than likely just a simple date

November 2nd 1944, the date that Sophia's people crashed.

Tess315 said...

I hope you're not being optimistic. I'd hate to see this show canceled I really like it.

A show called The Cape will take The Event's time slot during the hiatus. It's the type of show most people like. Comic book hero stuff. I'd hate to see it be more popular than The Event and take it's place.

The Cape Promo

Zort70 said...

Looks like a reasonable idea, but it looks more like a movie idea than a long lived series to me.

Do we really need another super hero series, especially as it is combining elements of several others we have all seen before.

Tess315 said...

You've got a point it does come across more like a movie.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see what NBC decides. Maybe there's room for both.

StillWatching said...

I suppose someone has already cross-checked the mirror image of Hal Holbrook (who is too strongly etched in my mind as Abe Lincoln for me to ever be able to remember his character name here) with the crash scene flashbacks from 1944.

Was that guy there?

StillWatching said...

Favorite line of the night:

"We covered up the assasination attempt. You can't arrest him for something that never happened."

Zort70 said...

K, I was waiting for someone to say - Doh !

StillWatching said...

So, do you suppose they can get Elixir-o-youth from any random little girl or does it have to be little girls with a specific genetic makeup or something?

maven said...

Zort: Thanks for your extended research, but the Nov. 2, 1944 date makes the most sense to me!!

"Elixer of little girl": UGH!
@K: Definitely think there has to be some 44er blood in them for the Elixir-o-youth to work which would seem to mean the Buchanan's might be have a hybrid daughter.

Getting tired of the Sean/Leila storyline. There better be a big payoff with all this running around.

StillWatching said...

@maven - me too on S/L. Maybe Leila will turn out to be one of the bad guys because I really don't care for her. :)

Tess315 said...

I don't know if it's the writing, directing or the actors but the S/L scenes seem a little flat. Occasionally Leila will have flashes of good, usually when she's mad. But then she'll go back to the little whiny girl.

I read some tweets where some people thinks Dempsey is a 44er and the elixir makes him look old.

I like that idea but I'm not sure I believe it.

Just Thinking said...

Just got to watch- that was a pretty good episode.

Have to requote myself from last post-"Ah- along those lines- maybe Dempsy is taking something from the girls-assuming they are 44's- that keeps him alive, and causes them to age when it is removed."

Looks like that might be true with his dropperfuls of "herbal sweetener".

It's too bad about Sean and Leila- I have to agree that stronger acting would help.

I just watched the episode. I'm glad that SG and BS can watch and comment in realtime. It was fun to watch the episode in one window (hulu.com) and read the comments in another. The next best thing to being there!!

Noticed:
The VP: I had to roll my eyes at the VP actually warning Dempsey that if he goes down he's not going alone. Seriously? Why warn this very powerful man-who-will-not-stop-at-anything-to-get-what-he-wants that he should kill you before you get a chance to rat on him? And he looked so surprised when someone comes to kill him! Even better was when he walked up the stairwell talking on the phone, exposing his head for the nearest sniper just waiting to get a clean shot off...I didn't see the van explosion coming, I thought rifleman inside or something like that.

Sean/Leila: I agree, there had better be a BIG payoff to this storyline. I like the lovestory aspects, the Sean-as-hero coming to the rescue of the damsel in distress. I'm just not convinced that they aren't beating a dead horse. I guess they need someone to come at the conspiracy from a different angle so we can see more of the story than can be told just from the govt.

Dempsey: I don't think he's an alien. I think he is human but found a way to exploit them (anti-aging) and has much invested in keeping them detained and secret. "Essence of little girl"? Ew. Seriously ew.

How long is this hiatus for? Is next Mon the last one for the winter? Bleh.

Amused2bHere said...

Ignore that last question. I just saw the previous post about the break. Doh!

I just noticed...this was episode 108! (I had to chuckle when they said the call came in at 1:08! shout out to Lost!)

Tess315 said...

I agree Dempsey wants to keep the EBE's (so many names we can call them) a secret so he can get his youth elixir.

I'm curious as to what Thomas' agenda is. He's clearly interested in more than just getting home.

maven said...

I'm going with Dempsey is a full human trying to exploit the EBE's for the Fountain of Youth. He's close, but only stays young for a fleeting moment.

BTW: I'll be on vacation for a while, but you're in great hands with Melissa_lossa and, of course, our leader Zort!! I'll be missing a few episodes, and I'm dreading my DVR list when I get back. Will I ever be able to catch up?

Just Thinking said...

Will they have many episodes before the hiatus? Maybe you won't miss much. Have a good trip!

Tess315 said...

I think there's only two more episodes before the hiatus.

have a safe, restful, and enjoyable vacation Maven!
