Decoding Truth Seeker 5314 20

Truth Seeker has posted to say that he has a copy of the transmission sent by Thomas.

He invites us to decode the signal, and I know that this is usually what we as a community are good at.

Sorry for the radio silence, folks, I took a little heat for that last post. Apparently the Freedom of Information Act doesn't apply to classified satellite transmissions. Who knew? But bottom line, we were able to break the story first and have since decrypted a fragment of the message. Score another one for the little guys. We may not have the processing capabilities of the DoD, but we were able to confirm the following:

"PREPARATIONS ARE..." (in some kind of cool "code" font)

It's too soon to start guessing what the remainder of the message states, so our computers continue to run decryption algorithms, hoping to illuminate it ASAP. If anyone has any spare computing power that they could volunteer, please let me know. We've already burned through 4 server blades, an old 3.46 gHz processor, and two RAID arrays.

President Martinez confronts the traitor in his administration, only to be met with threats of exposing the cover-up of Avias Air 514.

Even after testing the loyalty of Isabel and Thomas, Sophia still suspects their subterfuge, so she sends Simon on a fact-finding mission. Her suspicions are confirmed when Thomas unveils a shocking new plan. Meanwhile, on the hunt for Samantha, Sean and Leila battle the mercenaries sent by Dempsey.

TruthSeeker 5314 - Hot zone in South West Asia 5

Truth Seeker has posted a new article about an infrared satellite image of a mystery location in South West Asia.

This could be an island location or a mountain location, it isn't clear from the image.

The article dosen't mention what the site is, but the title of the picture is "infrared-missile-site.jpg" so it appears that there are some big weapons on the site.

Can you identify the location or provide any insight into how it might be connected with events in The Event, if so let us know in the comments.

Dempsey sends his people after Sean and Leila as they try to find Samantha.

Meanwhile President Martinez reacts to the knowledge of who betrayed him within his administration.

Also, after revealing her plan for the Sleepers future, Sophia learns of dissension among her people. She sets a trap for the perpetrators and acts decisively to quell any future mutiny.

Update on The TruthSeeker Blog tonight

"Almost a year ago, our good friend and contributor Madeline gave me an anonymous ESN number to clone and monitor here at the Truth Cave.

I did some cell tower sweeps, and it looks like it's a broadcast message that went simultaneously to numerous cellphones. Unfortunately, it was sent by a spambot that rerouted it through several offshore anonymizers that lead back to a non-working number in Sierra Leone. I'm running a code breaker app on the text itself, hoping to glean some insight, but I could use our collective consciousness for this one."

Episode 8 - 'For the Good of the Country' 59

President Martinez decides to personally interrogate Michael Buchanan about his involvement in the assassination attempt. Michael inadvertently reveals incriminating evidence about someone deep inside the President's staff. Meanwhile, Sean and Leila scramble to stay ahead of the covert ops that are trying to silence them and what they know.

NBC Announces 3 Month Gap to New Episodes

A short while ago the official news came in from NBC that The Event will take an extended break until the 28th of February 2011.

There are a couple of episodes still to come, but December, January, and most of Feburary will be The Event free zones.

Will this be a major problem for The Event as it has just got going or will it give everyone time to breath and catch up after the holiday period ?

Only time and a decent re-launch in February will tell.

Whatever happens join us later tonight to discuss the new episode, it looks like it's going to be an explosive one.

Fringe Promoting The Event ?

In what I am sure is pure coincidence, the Glyphs code in the recent Fringe episode Amber 31422 spelled out EVENT.

Will we see a Fringe / The Event crossover?

Will we see Agent Dunham take on Sophia ?

Will we see Walter square up to Dempsey ?

The answers to those questions are nearly 100% certain to be no, but we can always speculate :-)

TruthSeeker5314 has posted that a page from Madeline's transmission has been decoded. It's a list of women's names and a list of "codes". What do you think?

Update - From the comments about the list there are some patterns emerging.

Firstly there are 13 names and 13 codes, and then there are the same number of blue names and blue codes.

The list to the right has just taken the black / blue names and matched them with the codes in the order they appear in the list, this may not be the right pairings, but it may be a start.

SG_Tess pointed out in the comments that there is some writing on the other side of the page.

A quick enhancement shows there are words there, but not all of them are clear.

Tonight, President Martinez and Blake Sterling fulfill their agreement with Thomas, but after their plan goes awry, they suspect that there is a possible mole in their midst.

Elsewhere, Sean Walker digs for answers at Leila’s home, where he encounters Madeline (guest star Paula Malcomson), a mysterious conspiracy theorist.

Also, Simon’s past is illuminated, and his allegiances are tested.

Anyone who watched 24, where several of The Event's producers and writers came from, knows that if there can be a mole, there WILL be a mole. There's always a mole.

Tonight, the CDC works to identify the biological agent and treat the infected persons while the White House and Sterling negotiate with Thomas.

In other events, Simon wants Sophia to turn on Thomas and Collier comes closer to catching Vicky and Carter.

And in real world events, The Event has just been picked up for a full season. Congratulations to everyone involved with the show! Breathe sigh of relief... now

The Event UK Premiere 22nd of October 11

Only 1 day to go to the UK premiere of the new US show The Event. Don't forget it is a double bill with the first two episodes showing on Friday night.

The Channel 4 website has a handy countdown so you know when it is on, as well as some cast interviews and previews.

The Radio Times for this week has a few segments talking about the pilot, but it's probably best if you don't read Alison Graham's column, it isn't very complimentary, just read the episode description below as it is the Pick of the Day for Friday.

We used Twitter (@Event_Community) to contact Mr Wauters (@NickWauters) who is the creator and head writer of the show, when we heard that the UK was showing The Event, and this is what he sent back to us.


Mr Wauters was born and raised in Belgium before moving to the US to attend a college in Ohio and then moving to Los Angeles as a production Assistant.

The White House's only hope for stopping a biological threat rests on breaking Sophia during interrogation.

Meanwhile, Vicky and Carter await instructions on what to do with their hostage and Collier stumbles across Vicky's secret during her search for Leila.

A White House-connected businessman (Hal Holbrook) with knowledge of classified intelligence emerges from the shadows.

Clue, Coincidence or Clumsy ?

While you wait for the next episode of The Event tonight consider these two photo comparisons.

First is a picture of the two files that we know exist on Sophia, in a later file she is listed as detainee number 42, but the earlier file from 1944 details her as detainee number 70.


Then we have a comparison from the start of episode 3 where the RV driver crashes into the FBI car containing Sean Walker.

The RV driver seems to have a change clothes before driving and after he is crashed -


Then we have the crash itself in Episode 3, if you look at the end of episode 2 the RV is nowhere to be seen, but in episode 3 it is just a couple of seconds away from the point that the car turns. (click for a larger version)


Are the differences clues, is it just a coincidence or is it just plain Clumsy ?

Channel 4 have announced that the UK permiere of The Event will be on October 22nd at 9pm, this will be its regular slot.

Episode 3 - Protect Them From the Truth 83

A new detainee (Clea DuVall) is put into play when the Martinez administration rolls out a new strategy to make Sophia come clean about the detainees' plan.

In other events, Vicky and Carter hold an important hostage and Collier's doubts grow deeper.

Will we find out what happened to the doomed plane passengers? Will Sophia's motivations become clearer? Will Sean Walker just keep running? Join us to find out!

Channel 4 in the UK have now launched their own The Event mini site

There are a few cast interviews and episode details on the site that will be safe for anyone who has not watched any of the US episodes.

There is still no word yet on exactly when in October the series will be shown in the UK.

The Event is an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, "The Class"), an everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his would-be fiancée Leila (Sarah Roemer, "Disturbia"), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history.
