A New Hope ? 6

As you may have already read there is lots of press coverage of NBC's decision not to renew The Event following it's first season.

However these two tweets from Nick Wauters and Ian Anthony Dale say, there are other possibilities for the continuation of the story.

Lets hope there is a conclusion of the story at the very least, but meanwhile enjoy the final few episodes that NBC have to broadcast and check back here every now and then for any news we might have to bring you.

The Event - Worrying Tweets 4

Some worrying tweets arrived in the last few hours via the Variety reporter Stuart Levine.

We are not giving up hope yet as this is far from an official announcement. According to the timescale we have been given there is still time to send emails and letters to NBC before they make their decision.

Click Here to view our previous post with the details on what to do.

Do You Want A Second Season of The Event ? 4

Do you want a second season of The Event ? Well I do and so do lots of other people, however NBC do not seem to have made their minds up yet.

In order to help them decide why don't you write to them and let them know. Blair Underwood has provided the details of who and where to write to for you to show your support.

According to the message you have until May 16th to do so.

Email - NBCTheEventTV@gmail.com

Postal - NBC/Universal Media Studio
c/o Vernon Sanders
100 Universal City Plaza Building 1320 Suite 4M
Universal City
CA 91608

I've already emailed and did get a reply from Mr Underwood's assistant thanking me for the support.

Don't just sit back and assume someone else will do it, take an active role in supporting The Event.

The Event - Updates 3

There are a few updates this week, including some to Dempsey's Office. There is a video from Nick Wauters answering some questions about The Event.

Unfortunately it is not available to anyone outside the UK, so I can't view it, but I've embedded it here just in case you can see it.

Update SG_Tess has emailed a transcript of the Q&A, as the answers could be considered as spoilers I've enclosed them in a hidden section.

Click Here to see the Q&A Transcript

Q Will Sean meet Pres. Martinez?

A Well the answer actually is yes. Pres. Martinez and Sean will meet very soon in an upcoming episode.

In a major twist, in a major storyline that has yo do with Sean's destiny. At least the destiny that was fortold or forseen by Dempsey. So it's coming up soon. So keep watching the show.

Q Is Michael going to answer all of Leila's questions?

A Well Michael is definately going to answer some of the questions that Leila has. Questions about who she is. Where she came from and about her family and about her origins. So yes he will answer some of her questions just not all of them.

Q What the significance of Dempsey's stone table and the pieces on it
represent?

A This is actually a question I can't answer right now. But it's tied into Dempsey's past who he is where he came from and his goals. So it's a secret for now.

Q What is the purpose of the old age face little girls? And they had Sam for so long why isn't her face old?

A Thats an excellent question. Glad you asked it. Actually there's
something special about all the little girls that Dempsey abducted.

(He says something else here I can't quite make out. It's either children he abducted or chose and abducted. I think. I'm not sure)

He's been extracting a serum he needs to accomplish his final purpose.

The reason Samantha isn't as ... doesn't look as old as the other little girls is because he hasn't had her for as long as the others.

That's basically the answer. The treatment she's recieved just started.

This is from our Dempsey's Office in Detail post where you can see the latest update.

Finally for now these two Tweets from Nick Wauters mention the end of filming of Season 1 and that there is still a decision to be made on a second season.

So if you want a second season do whatever you can to spread the word about The Event. There is a We Want a Second Season Facebook page which would be a good place to start.

The Event Episode 16 Discussion Post 80

The Sleepers mourn their losses after negotiations are a failure, meanwhile Sterling tests Simon's loyalties.

Martinez assigns Sen. Lewis to root out White House moles, no matter where the trail leads.

Sean and Vicky close in on Dempsey, but it may be what Dempsey is expecting.

Epsiode Title - There seems to be some debate about what this episode is called as the NBC sites lists it as "The Breaking Point", but most other websites list it as "You Bury Other Things Too"

Episode 11 and 12 Discussion 122

The double bill of episodes tonight are looking good.

Here is quite a detailed summary, so read at your own risk, the episode titles are at the end of the description.

The two photographs used in this post are from Nick Wauters behind the scene's exclusive photo collection

President Martinez and his longtime Chief of Staff charge the intelligence community with decrypting Thomas' satellite message, but more importantly determining to whom it was sent.

While they are distracted, Thomas unveils a surprise attack, but he does not anticipate a heroic stand-off with Blake Sterling, who learns an important lesson about Sleepers from Maya.

Meanwhile, newly appointed Alaskan Senator Catherine Lewis threatens to divulge information about the Mt. Inostranka detention facility on an episode of Hardball with Chris Matthews.

Elsewhere, Sean and Leila get a fresh lead on the whereabouts of Samantha, but it leads them to a dramatic turn in their lives. James Dempsey foresees that he and Sean will once again cross paths.

Episode titles -

Series 1 Episode 11 - And Then There Were More

Series 1 Episode 12 - Inostranka

The Event Spring Preview Trailer 12

NBC have released this very brief trailer for the US return of The Event on the 7th of March.

It is slightly odd as it appears to be someone filming the trailer and then posting the video of the video !

It also gives a very big hint at what might happen on the 7th of March and is all a bit eerie.

Thanks for SG_Tess for telling us first about this new teaser trailer.

We also have an update from Truthseeker5314

This is a police accident report about a collision with a car and a van that belongs to Willowbrook Behavioural Hospital, where Leila's sister was being held.

Are You Ready For Some More ? 9

Well it is nearly time for The Event to come rushing back to our screens, there will be a double catchup episode on the 28th of Feb and then the brand new episodes will start on the 7th of March on NBC.

It's a long overdue return and there are lots of people waiting to see if it has been worth the wait. I get a feeling that episode 11 and 12 could be the tipping point for the series, if it isn't a really engaging and active episode it may alienate a lot of the audience.

That is assuming that is there is still some audience to be found ! Let us know if you are still here and if you intend to start watching again.

You can see dotted about in this post some preview images from the new episodes.

One final thing, there is no official word yet on when UK viewers will get to see episode 11, but Channel 4 have indicated that it will be in a similar timescale to the first 10 episodes. As soon as we know more the information will be posted here.

No More Flashbacks ? 6

According to this article on the entertainment news website Digital Spy, Blair Underwood is quoted as saying that flashbacks are not going to be part of The Event when it returns as the audience was getting confused.

The article also mentions the dreaded "Revamp" word which is usually a sign that someone is not 100% confident of the show.

Anyway flashbacks or not we hope to see you back here to discuss the new episodes when they arrive.

Waiting For The Event 2

While we wait for new episodes to start with a catchup on February 28 (9-11 p.m. ET) and resumes in its (9-10 p.m. ET) timeslot on March 7 on NBC, there are a few new snippets emerging.

These pictures were taken from the website DaemonsTV.com and interestingly all show the characters as reflections. Perhaps this is a clue that we need to look at the characters from a different point of view ?

Anyway there are lots of other things to see around the web, especially on the official NBC sites. This snippet from the blog of The Event's creator Nick Wauters is a tribute to how the show is being received. Click here to see the rest of the article which includes some photo's from the next two episodes.

"What a year 2010 has been! Personally, I was lucky enough to get a pilot made and picked up to series -- and then to have everyone at NBC believe in it so much. Then to have it become a hit show with such a fantastic and devoted fan base. I can't tell you how amazing it's been. And yes, surreal -- the word I I've been overusing and will actually use to qualify 2010. Thanks again to everyone at NBC, to our incredibly talented cast and crew, and especially to you, the fans. Thank you for your devotion! We do this for you. Over 200 people put countless hours of hard work this past year, working day in and day out to produce this show for you and to keep you entertained."

Other goodies include deleted scenes and behind the scenes videos, Click here to view them however I'm afraid some of the clips are not available in all countries.

NBC Announces 3 Month Gap to New Episodes

A short while ago the official news came in from NBC that The Event will take an extended break until the 28th of February 2011.

There are a couple of episodes still to come, but December, January, and most of Feburary will be The Event free zones.

Will this be a major problem for The Event as it has just got going or will it give everyone time to breath and catch up after the holiday period ?

Only time and a decent re-launch in February will tell.

Whatever happens join us later tonight to discuss the new episode, it looks like it's going to be an explosive one.

Fringe Promoting The Event ?

In what I am sure is pure coincidence, the Glyphs code in the recent Fringe episode Amber 31422 spelled out EVENT.

Will we see a Fringe / The Event crossover?

Will we see Agent Dunham take on Sophia ?

Will we see Walter square up to Dempsey ?

The answers to those questions are nearly 100% certain to be no, but we can always speculate :-)

If you want to find out more about the Glyph code and more about Fringe in general, head on over to FringeTelevision.com for more information.

The Event UK Premiere 22nd of October 11

Only 1 day to go to the UK premiere of the new US show The Event. Don't forget it is a double bill with the first two episodes showing on Friday night.

The Channel 4 website has a handy countdown so you know when it is on, as well as some cast interviews and previews.

Still not sure you want to watch, then read Jo Garfein's (Jopinonated) spoiler free review of the first episode.

The Radio Times for this week has a few segments talking about the pilot, but it's probably best if you don't read Alison Graham's column, it isn't very complimentary, just read the episode description below as it is the Pick of the Day for Friday.

Remember for UK viewers, click here for articles on this site suitable for UK viewers who are watching at a UK pace.

Inside Out The Event T-Shirt

After looking at some The Event tweets @BostAngeles has posted this picture of a t-shirt which I am assuming was picked up at the LA preview screening of the first episode.

The more observant amongst you will notice that the image is reversed and that the t shirt is also inside out, the words were found inside the shirt.
